Sustainability

Let's Show Some Respect

Left to its own devices, the earth is a sustainable system. As we continue to learn, however, the accumulated impacts of human activity over the past two centuries are now threatening our continued well-being. Each of us has the opportunity to be a little more respectful to Mother Earth. We are here to make it easy for you!

Each of our designs is focused on reducing waste, decreasing water usage and choosing the correct plants. Each has a significant impact on the sustainability of this earth. By repurposing materials, purchasing recycled products or composting yard trimmings we can minimize the amount of waste we produce considerably. Putting more thought into plant selection and placement can result in self-sustaining plant communities. We promote the use of native plants that are more likely to thrive with minimal irrigation and newer varieties of others that have improved characteristics like drought tolerance, pest and disease resistance and more abundant flowering. Adding edible plants to your garden may not only attract wildlife to share in the delight of your landscape but increase the functionality of the space as well.

There is no one-size-fits-all design for sustainability in the landscape. We're here to adapt the ideas to fit your own set of circumstances.
